Welcome to CienciaPR, an expert and resource network for all who are interested in science and Puerto Rico.
My name is Orlando I. Torres Rodríguez a first-year student in the Ph.D. Program in Biomedical Sciences. I have been focusing my studies on the learning and extinction of fear memories in an animal model, as part of Dr. James T. Porter's laboratory. I have been a member of Dr. Porter's laboratory for approximately two (2) years. My main task in this neuroscience-directed laboratory focused on collecting and analyzing the electrophysiology data; as well as running the behavioral protocols.
Last December 5th, 2015 at the Puerto Rico Neuroscience Annual Conference I presented poster tittled: FEAR CONDITIONING AND EXTINCTION ALTER VENTRAL HIPPOCAMPUS ACTIVATION OF NMDAR CURRENTS IN INFRALIMBIC NEURONS.
