About Me and Project Info

About Me:

My doctoral research is focused on the role of social-ecological interactions in the landscape performance of urban ecological parks. Previously, I have also studied the perception of benefits of ecological parks in Puerto Rico. My studies in ecology include bird pollination of heliconias in the rainforest (Yunque, PR), frugivory by patas and rhesus monkeys (Sierra Bermeja, PR), sexual reproduction in five tomatillo species (Physalis spp., Solanaceae) (Virginia, USA), and the maintenance of alternative feeding strategies in the moth Symmetrischema lavernaella (Gelechiidae) (Virginia, USA).
