The Disability Mentoring Program at the American Psychological Association has been at the forefront of supporting and highlighting the contributions of individuals with disabilities to psychology for over two decades. By connecting mentees with experienced mentors, the program aims to provide guidance, support, and a sense of belonging that can make all the difference in navigating the challenges of academia and professional life.

Eligibility 

Mentees:

  • Graduate psychology students with a disability and/or neurodivergent identity
  • Psychologists entering the field with a disability and/or neurodivergent identity
  • Practicing psychologists with a disability and/or neurodivergent identity

Mentors:

  • Psychology doctoral students with a disability and/or neurodivergent identity
  • Psychologists with a disability and/or neurodivergent identity 
  • Psychologists who closely engage in research, practice or education related to disability or neurodiversity
