Ana G. Méndez University System Student Research Development Center are very proud to launch Puerto Rico's first semester-long Neuroscience research program aimed at high school students to work as Pre-College Researchers at the university level within the Saturday Research Academy in the Ana G. Méndez University System.  This new initiative is a very intensive and demanding program and we're looking for the best and brightest to join us from both public and private schools. Both experienced and first-time research students are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Neurocircuitry group will meet on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. both in Universidad del Este at Carolina and Universidad del Turabo at Gurabo where they'll be mentored and guided through a research project of their own during semester-long sessions within the following research focuses: Neurolinguistics, Cognitive Neuroscience, Computational Neuroscience, Neuroinformatics and Systems Neuroscience with particular emphasis in Neural Circuits. In addition, they will receive training and complete a research poster and/or a presentation including a technical paper to disseminate at the end of the semester in a Symposium with the students that participated in the other areas of the Saturday Research Academy.

The program intends to expand the knowledge and application of neuro/brain research. In the process, we want to mentor more minority pre-college students in S.T.E.M. to guide them towards math and science careers. With this, we want to enlighten rising professionals on what the Neurosciences and Mathematics will be able to do in the next frontier. Furthermore, we will prepare students for competent and up-level research projects and quality scientific delivery of findings (presentations).

The application is available at www.neurocircuitry.weebly.com.
