Puerto Rican Ecology Mixer at the Annual ESA Conference

About twenty Puerto Rican ecologists assisted to the first organized event convened by Ciencia Puerto Rico at the Ecological Society of America’s Annual Ecological meeting in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Just like in the majority of these scientific meetings, a huge amount of researchers assisted to the general meeting. However, having around 4,000 attendees, it is not always easy to find fellow Puerto Rican scientists.  Because of this, a new idea was born: having a gathering of Puerto Rican scientist at the Ecological meeting.

A position of Electron Microscopy Research Technician is available in the Electron Microscopy Facility of the Universidad Central del Caribe (UCC).  UCC is a fast growing private Medical School in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Our research community investigates various ultrastructural aspects of synaptic transmission and neurological diseases.

CienciaPR y La Sociedad de Microbiólogos de Puerto Rico (SMPR) te invitan al: "2nd Puerto Rican Microbiology Mixer" (PRMM)

“De manera fundamental sería ideal que el ciudadano promedio pudiera entender conceptos de ciencia y tecnología y porqué son importantes. La ciencia, en general, te lleva al pensamiento crítico. Si el ciudadano promedio utilizara el pensamiento crítico como herramienta cotidiana para resolver una gamma de problemas, yo creo, que tendríamos un mejor ciudadano”. Mónica Feliú-Mójer, Ph.D.
