The Metropolitan University (UMET) opened the first Maria Zambrano Center for Transatlantic Studies (AMZET) in Puerto Rico, thanks to a a collaboration with the University of Malaga (UMA). This Center is an academic, inter-university and multidisciplinary initiative that will promote the exchange of ideas between researchers in Europe, Latinoamerica and Puerto Rico about cultural, social, political and economical topics.

Research conducted in Puerto Rico evidenced that educating parents to talk to their kids about sexuality promotes and facilitates communication about sexual health between them. The project tested the effectiveness of a web-based educational module to promote communication between parents and children (13-17 years) on topics related to sexuality.
 

VERMONT EPSCOR PAID SUMMER INTERNSHIPS

The Vermont EPSCoR Undergraduate Internship Program offers students the opportunity to participate in current research conducted through the Basin Resilience to Extreme Events (BREE) program. Undergraduates will be matched with a research team working on the transdisciplinary BREE research program.
