The Environmental Mutagen Society (EMS) is currentlythe primary intellectual forum for researchersinterested in the development and application ofmolecular technologies for toxicological studies andfor the development of methods for studying mutationsand the mechanisms of mutation and DNA repair in modelcellular systems as well as humans.This year, the EMS will have its annual meeting inPuerto Rico. The broad objective of the meeting is toprovide a forum for integrating cutting-edge basicresearch in DNA repair, mechanisms of mutagenesis, andepigenetic regulation in response to environmentalgenotoxic agents with translational research, riskassessment, and regulatory concerns. The EMS meetingwill also have a strong emphasis on networkingopportunities for Latin American scientists withcolleagues from Canada and the U.S., including PuertoRico, as well as major educational and student outreachcomponents.The meeting will be held at the Wyndham Rio Mar Resorton October 18-22, 2008.
