The manufacture, installation and service of the Halo centers will be in charge of personnel of HP in Aguadilla, which turns that factory into the heart of this new technology. According to the Governor, “this demonstrates, once again, the confidence that high technology companies have in the Puerto Rican workforce and its capacities to manufacture, install and repair sophisticated communication systems like the one we are launching today (yesterday) internationally”. The technology related to Halo was created by Hewlett-Packard and the animation company Dreamworks. According to Iris Santos, general manager of the Division of Provisions of Impression of HP for the Américas, around 12 people will monitor the good operation of the system and approximately 20 will be in charge of the manufacture and the installation of the equipment. Each center has a cost of $550,000. The hall inaugurated in Aguadilla will serve as a demonstration center for clients interested in the system. The halls are equipped with equipment audio, illumination, and plasma screens, cameras, microphones and an information system that allows –through a high speed connection- the projection of documents and presentations.
