The Puerto Rico Science, Technology and Research Trust (PRSTRT) and the Puerto Rico Public Health Trust (PRPHT) have initiated a pilot project to establish Telemedicine and Telehealth programs in Puerto Rico. It consists of the purchase of specialized equipment that will allow remote health services to be offered in the Castañer communities in Lares, Florida, Rincón, Arroyo, Las Marías, Maricao and Culebra.

The Puerto Rico Public Health Trust (PRPHT), was given the task of developing the “Achú” Activity Book, to educate children about the new Coronavirus COVID-19. The book was created with the idea of ​​raising awareness in children, in a simple and fun way, of the world’s reality in relation to this disease, which is already considered a global pandemic, and nobody is exempt from it.

Local Team Creates Tools to Improve Housing Addresses in Puerto Rico

The Initiative for Civic Address Systems Assessment in Puerto Rico, iCasaPR, a local nonprofit organization, has begun a project to tackle the challenges of address infrastructure in Puerto Rico and its effect on disadvantaged communities. This project, called Puerto Rico Civic Address Vulnerability Evaluation, PRCAVE, is the first systematic evaluation of address infrastructure in Puerto Rico. PRCAVE is backed by a generous donation from the non-profit organization Filantropía Puerto Rico.
