Los científicos sabemos que la enfermedad de Huntington es provocada por una mutación o cambio que altera el material genético de una persona y que resulta en la producción de una proteína defectuosa.

A group of scientist at the Medical Sciences Campus (RCM), University of Puerto Rico (UPR) are studying Huntington's disease. The team is lead by Dr.Sylvette Ayala-Peña.

Ther author is a doctral student at RCM-UPR and a member of Ciencia Puerto Rico.
