Applications for the 2016-2017 ASHG/National Human Genome Research Institute Fellowships in Genetics & Education and Genetics & Public Policy are now open! The deadline to submit your application is Monday, April 25, 2016.
Genetics and Public Policy Fellowship This 16-month opportunity is designed for genetics professionals with an advanced degree who are early in their careers and interested in the development and implementation of genetics-related health and research policies at a national level. The fellow will have the opportunity to participate in policy analysis at NHGRI and ASHG, and to work directly with the United States Congress. Genetics and Education Fellowship This 16-month opportunity is designed for genetics professionals with an advanced degree who are early in their careers and interested in the development and implementation of national genomics literacy efforts, informal science education, science education policy, program development, or science education research. The fellow will have the opportunity to participate in genetics education program development at the NHGRI and ASHG and, as an option, to work directly with other organizations involved in genetics education. Both fellowships run from September 2016 through December 2017, and are open to individuals with advanced degrees in human genetics or related fields, prior experience in policy or education (as appropriate), and eligibility to work in the United States. Each program selects one Fellow per year, who will receive an annual $72,000 stipend plus benefis. |
