Ponce Health Sciences University (PHSU) invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Basic Sciences, Biochemistry Division at the level of ASSISTANT PROFESSOR. A competitive candidate will have expertise in biochemistry and metabolism, preferably with experience in teaching graduate level.

PHSU is a private, bilingual center of higher education located in the southern coastal city of Ponce in Puerto Rico.  PHSU has a dynamic medical program that is currently undergoing a period of aggressive growth, with a new state-of-the-art academic building under construction as well as substantial campus-wide renovation. The School of Medicine also offers a master’s degree in medical sciences and a PhD in biomedical sciences. About half of the faculty in the Basic Sciences Department have active, funded research programs under the Ponce Research Institute. 

We are seeking candidates with a PhD or equivalent degree who are available for full-time appointments. The major teaching role will be in the medical biochemistry course; expertise and teaching experience in are preferred.  Review of candidates will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
