For many employees, their introduction to BASF began with a summer internship. For 12 weeks students majoring in Engineering gain experience and create a network of contacts at BASF.

We offer Engineering students the opportunity to spend 12 weeks in the summer working at a North America BASF manufacturing site in Manati, PR. Students will be hired through a third-party contracting agency.

What can the Engineering Internship do for you?
- The opportunity to be considered for a rotational assignment in a different location across the United States, for those who return for a second summer internship.
- Participate in engineering projects which will provide the opportunity to further develop both technical and professional skills. These practical and meaningful assignments will give interns an opportunity to apply what they’ve learned in school.
- Opportunity to network throughout BASF and explore possible career tracks within the company

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Basic Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program, as a rising junior or senior, at an accredited college or university
- Must be Majoring in Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field)
- 3.0 GPA required in Major
- Available for 12 consecutive weeks during the summer
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills Outstanding work ethic
- Proven leadership skills Ability to work well in team environments
- Solid problem solving abilities

Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Customer Focus: candidate must be dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of customers
- Effective Communication Skills : candidate must be able to apply active listening skills demonstrating critical judgment, empathy and openness, communicate in a trustworthy manner with self-confidence and authenticity, and adapt communication style to take different perspectives into account
- Effective Collaboration and Teamwork: candidate must contribute to the team’s work to jointly reach goals; and think and act in collaboration with other team members
- Act with Entrepreneurial Drive: candidate must take ownership and show persistence to achieve results and to exceed expectations; and handle obstacles in a calm and assertive way
- Computer and software knowledge: Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint are required to perform job function
