CANCER RESEARCH OPPORTUNITY - SUMMER 2026

We invite master's and health professions students to apply for our NCI-funded Cancer Prevention and Control (CAPAC) Research Training Program  (award # 5R25CA240120-07), hosted by the University of Puerto Rico Comprehensive Cancer Center from May 26 to July 31, 2026, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, USA. For its 6^th consecutive year, the program will offer a hands-on cancer prevention and control research experience.

A primary goal of CAPAC is to increase the number of master’s degree graduates and other health professionals who pursue a doctoral degree and/or a career as cancer researchers. Each year, CAPAC recruits 25 graduate/health professional students and recent graduates from all academic backgrounds to participate in a 10-week hands-on full-time research experience in Puerto Rico under the supervision of an assigned research mentor. Upon application and evaluation, the program will support a maximum of 6 trainees to extend their research experience for up to 15 weeks. The program also provides educational and professional seminars and workshops for trainees.
