Youth Lead the Change (YLC), the premier conference on youth leadership development and social change from the Leadership Institute of Harvard College, is joining forces with the Baldwin School of P.R. to host its first Puerto Rico Conference!

Our 5-day leadership camp teaches key leadership principles, inspires creativity and innovation, encourages effective team work, and builds awareness of social problems using its curriculum designed by Harvard Graduate School of Education (GSE), Harvard Business Schoo (HBS)l, and Harvard College professors. From receiving guidance from current Harvard College students, engaging in workshops and case studies using the HBS and GSE methods, working in teams to create a actual social change project within the conference, and meeting high-level professionals from Puerto Rico, participants will be able to prepare for college and dive in to their own social change projects. Our conferences have been taught in 3 US locations (Vail, San Francisco, and Boston) and 3 international locations (Burma, Bhutan, and Japan). From these conferences, our participants have gone on to create their own mentorship programs, websites, public awareness campaigns, amongst others.

This conference will be held from June 2nd to June 6th at the Baldwin School of P.R. from 9am to 4pm. Our conferences give priority to students who will be entering the 10th-12th grade. However, all high school students are encouraged to apply. Students may apply using this link: The deadline for the early application for only Baldwin students will be May 1st, 2014. The regular deadline for all other schools will be May 15th, 2014. The cost of the conference is $125, which will include all materials and all meals throughout the duration of the conference. Applications are NEED-blind and we will be working to make this conference accessible to all students.
