Postdoctoral position open with Dr. Laura Raffield in the Department of Genetics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Postdoctoral Research Associates will have the opportunity to lead multiple projects and would work with Dr. Laura Raffield to create a multi-year plan to maximize scientific productivity, pursue independent grant funding, and progress towards an independent career. Potential projects include: Analysis of gene expression and protein QTLs in blood/plasma in diverse populations, including the Jackson Heart Study, Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis, and Women’s Health Initiative and additional cohorts from the Population Architecture using Genomics and Epidemiology (PAGE) consortium. Analysis of predictors of COVID-19 susceptibility and immune response to vaccination in Collaborative Cohort of Cohorts for COVID-19 Research (C4R) consortium. Genetic and epidemiological analysis of inflammation and thrombosis related biomarkers for cardiometabolic disease and Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Development of polygenic risk scores for clinical lab measures across diverse populations, as part of the newly formed NHGRI Polygenic RIsk MEthods in Diverse populations (PRIMED) consortium. Leadership in cross-cohort ‘omics analyses in NHLBI’s Trans-Omics for Precision Medicine (TOPMed) Initiative.
