POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN ANTIFUNGAL IMMUNITY at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School, Laboratory of Dr. Amariliz Rivera
We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join our team to investigate immune responses to pulmonary fungal pathogens. Our studies span innate and adaptive immune mechanisms of defense against the clinically important fungal organisms Aspergillus fumigatus and Cryptococcus neoformans. We are seeking a highly motivated scientist to help advance our project goals and lead the development of novel models for the study of antifungal immunity. A strong background in immunology and/or fungal pathogenesis is highly desirable. The position requires experience in mouse models of disease. Experience with flow cytometry, processing of human cells and complex bioassays is also desirable. Must be willing to work in a multidisciplinary team and keep a positive attitude. Demonstrated scientific success as exemplified by peer-reviewed publications is a must. Applicants should hold a PhD/and/or an MD degree. Our lab is located at The Center for Immunity and Inflammation(CII) at Rutgers Biomedical Health Science campus in Newark, NJ and in close proximity to New York City. The CII at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School Cancer Center is a multidisciplinary and highly collaborative center with laboratories dedicated to researching a diversity of topics in immunology and infectious diseases. Compensation will be commensurate with experience. The position is available staring in Fall 2021 with a flexible start date based on a variety of factors. The position will initially be for one year but renewable based on performance evaluation and availability of funds.
