Position Title: Tenure-track Assistant Professor of Geology in Environmental and Aqueous Geochemistry starting in fall 2014

Required Qualifications and Education:

Ph.D.in Geosciences,or related Ph.D. discipline and a M.S. in Geosciences. A strong commitment to teaching, published research, and research with undergraduate students is essential.

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

Ph.D. in Geosciences with demonstrated interest and experience in environmental/aqueous geochemistry.

Responsibilities – Essential Functions:

We seek an excellent teacher and researcher who will engage undergraduates at all levels in environmental and aqueous geochemistry courses/research, and also teach introductory geology courses (some with labs and/or large lectures), which are part of the general education program and the geology core. These courses typically involve lab and field experiences. The position requires a strong commitment to published research, proposal writing and submission, design and implementation of a new environmental emphasis, and service to the unit, college, university, and community.

Responsibilities – Non-essential Functions

We are interested in creative teachers and researchers who complement existing faculty strengths. We also value experience outside academia. Opportunities exist to collaborate with researchers in the Annis Water Resources Institute.

Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
