Job Title   Training/Career Development Core Coordinator

Job Description: The Ponce Health Sciences University-Ponce Research Institute (PHSU-PRI) is seeking candidates for a full-time Training/Career Development Core Coordinator. This core is part of a collaborative U54 Partnership consortium between PHSU-PRI, the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida and the National Cancer Institute (NCI). The coordinator of this core is expected to be in charge of facilitating all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the training program, especially in the planning, coordination and execution of training activities for PhD and MD students, as well as for medical residents and clinicians. The coordinator will serve as a central point of communication between PHSU-PRI and Moffitt investigators and trainees both in Ponce and Tampa, as well as between PHSU-PRI and local educational and research institutions and hospitals. The coordinator will interact with his/her counterpart at Moffitt to ensure effective communication during planning of training activities. The coordinator will also be in charge of collecting and organizing trainees´ records, surveys, evaluations, etc., as well as of participating in the preparation of progress reports. The hired person is expected to interact closely with other U54 Program Managers and Coordinators and be available to provide back-up to the U54 Administrative Core when needed.

Salary $26,000

Required qualifications and skills: Bachelor’s Degree and prior experience with program administration. The candidate should be completely bilingual – English/Spanish both spoken and written, and with very strong communication skills, verbal and written, in both Spanish and English. Proficiency in computers and software such as Office Suite (Excel, Power Point and Word), and data entry software. Highly organized, proactive, with initiative and good communication skills. Mature and with ability to interact well with students, faculty, researchers and clinicians. Be able to work under stress when meeting deadlines, and capable of multi-tasking.
