Technology startups are a premier example of a knowledge-based economy. However, Puerto Rican entrepreneurs that already have their startups in the archipelago consider that a change of culture is needed to foster innovation and the creation of more startups.

The coquí llanero became the first of this species of frog to be designated as an endangered species by the United Stated Fish and Wild Life Service.
