The project that would create Puerto Rico's first National Model Forest will be presented in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday said Governor Alejandro García Padilla, underscoring that this would be a historic project.

The area covered by the forest included 390,000 acres and spans 20 municipalitie and the purpose is to promote the sustainable management of the natural area.

One of the cables supporting the tranmission and reception system of the Arecibo Observatory suffered minor damage after the 6.4 earthquake happened last week in Puerto Rico.
