In the research he performs at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez (UPRM), Cordova invetigates colloids that have the ability of propulsion, like the microorganisms that travel troughout our blood.

Even though only one case of Zika virus has been reported in Puerto Rico, the Health Department made a statement today for citizens to prevent the propagation of the Aedes aegypti mosquito and to avoid its bite, specially for pregnant women.
