Alanys had a problem. The shore of the beach she frequently visits with her family is covered with piles of algae. "They look ugly and the smell," she said. So she took matters into her own hands, with science. With her father's help she designed a few experiments to test if the algae could be used as fertilizer. She discovered that under certain conditions, algae can be recycled and used to make plants grow better.
