El Yunque y su diversidad

This essay by Melissa Cabrera Ruíz, a high school student at the Centro Residencial de Oportunidades Educativas de Mayagüez (CROEM), won first place in the national science essay competition of the International Congress of the Spanish Languague (CILE 2016). The essay discusses the biodiversity of El Yunque the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. Forest System.

Viva, Science in Spanish!

Last week Ciencia Puerto Rico took part in the VII International Congress of the Spanish Language (CILE 2016). Through a historical collaboration CienciaPR and CILE celebrated that for the first time science had a prominent role in this Congress, the largest and most important celebration of the Spanish-language. CienciaPR and CILE collaborated in the evaluation of science essays for a national science essay competition and in the participation in an international colloquium about the Spanish language and science.
