San Juan, April 21, 2022- Puerto Rico is at a critical juncture in which the health and protection of ecosystems are under constant threat. Against this backdrop, the organization Para la Naturaleza today presented Mapa 33, a digital community tool for citizen participation, which aims to integrate citizens in the conservation processes of the natural areas of the archipelago of Puerto Rico by the year 2033.

For the 4th year, the Environmental Quality Board, the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources, the National Ocean and Atmospheric Agency and Para La Naturaleza celebrated the Symposium on prevention and control of light pollution in Puerto Rico.

The non-profit organization, Para La Naturaleza, developed a new digital tool to encourage the planting of native trees. This tool will help people choose the appropriate native tree to plant based on their needs, characteristics and available space. The tool is available through their webpage at: www.paralanaturaleza.org/arbolesnativos.
