José Zamora, a researcher from the Agriculture Extension Service at the University of Puerto Rico, warns about the risk of importing pineapple seeds from Costa Rica due to the possible presence of the fungus Fusarium Oxysporum which could terminate local pineapple production.

SAN FRANCISCO — More than 4,000 tadpoles reproduced in California were sent to Puerto Rico as part of a program to restore the Puertorrican multicolor toad that was thought extinct.
