CARICOOS receives RICE certification from NOAA

The Caribbean Regional Association for Coastal Ocean Observing (CARICOOS), of the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus was certified as Regional Information Coordination Entity (RICE) by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Recently the first crop of rice—a staple in local cuisine—grown in Puerto Rico was harvested, opening a new chapter for agriculture in the Island.
