Two STEM awards for research at UPR Aguadilla

Aguadilla, P.R. - Thanks to the support of the Puerto Rican people, the research project entitled Citizen Science as a teaching tool presented by natural science students from UPR Aguadilla and under the direction of Professor Dr. Jesús Lee Borges, won two awards: "Presenters' Choice" and "Public Choice" in the international competition The 2022 STEM for All Video Showcase: Access, Inclusion, and Equity.

Research Experience for undergraduates

The NSF REU: PR-CLIMB program is a 9-week research internship program for undergraduate students interested in chemistry-related sciences. This program exposes students to interdisciplinary projects, professional development opportunities, and hands-on technical workshops.

Dr. Aida I. Rodríguez Roig, rector of the University of Puerto Rico at Humacao (UPRH) announces a new allocation of $ 4.2 million from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for the extension of the Partnerships for Research and Education in Materials (PREM) project, which brings together professors and students from the UPR of Humacao and Cayey, in collaboration with colleagues affiliated with the Materials Center of the University of Pennsylvania (Penn).

UPR Mayagüez is again the Puerto Rican university with the most NSF scholarship recipients

The Mayagüez Campus (RUM) of the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) became, once again, the Puerto Rican higher education institution with the largest number of scholarship recipients of the prestigious Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) that grants the National Science Foundation (NSF).

This year, the honor went to 11 schoolboys: Lee Roger Chevres Fernández, Ian González Amador, Christian José Lagares, José A. Lasalde Ramírez, Edgard Alvin Lebrón Rodríguez, Cristina Lorenzo Velázquez, Diego Rafael Ramos Ortiz, Daniela Marina Rivera Mirabal, Gabriel Sánchez Velázquez, Hosea Amos Santiago Cruz and Elizabeth Torres De Jesús, all students and graduates of the RUM.
