Welcome to CienciaPR, an expert and resource network for all who are interested in science and Puerto Rico.
I studied biological and chemical sciences as an undergraduate student. I started doing research in the field of environmental chemistry and bio-remediation and presented most of my research projects with affiliation to the American Chemical Society. Using a little bit of acquired knowledge on nanotechnology, we conducted a research project using nano-particles as enhancers for soil cleaning.
After graduated, I was offered a position as a chemistry proctor at the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico Ponce Campus. There I helped the chemistry and biology faculty in the courses of General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, and Biochemistry. I worked in this institution for two years. After this, I decided to apply to the Biochemistry Ph.D. program at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus. I’m currently working under the mentorship of Dr. Pablo Vivas and researching in Cancer Biology, Experimental Therapeutics, and Molecular Biology.
