Our research involves the study of mutations that cause cardiac arrhythmias in humans. In particular, we focus on studying mutations in ion channel genes such as KCNJ2, SCN5A, KCNQ1, HERG and KCNEs. We utilize molecular biology, microscopy, biochemical and electrophysiological tools to study the functional consequences of several mutations in these genes.
