Microbiologist with over 20 years of combined experience in both private sector and government. Experienced and accomplished in laboratory work, domestic and foreign inspections, senior scientific expert and reviewer of applications submitted from sponsors to FDA. Microbiologist and subject matter expert (SME) representing FDA in high-profile criminal court cases (Meningitis Outbreak of 2012); microbiologist - SME designing research projects for FDA food regulated commodities (Listeria monocytogenes - Harvard Medical School) and microbiologist - SME for FDA regulated tobacco product applications (e.g. smokeless products, e-cigarettes, and waterpipes).
•Regulatory analyses of Listeria monocytogenes outbreaks (cantaloupes and sprouts) and resulting written products including Research proposal and publication (e.g., Harvard Medical School and FDA-WEAC collaboration).
•Managing research projects and programs aimed to understand emerging food-safety issues, new technologies, and to inform results from corresponding research proposals, research plans, final reports, and presentations.
•Designing, conducting, and presenting briefings addressing Listeria monocytogenes issues (e.g., improving the environmental monitoring sampling in domestic food inspections).
