B.Sc. in Chemistry since 2002 by the University of Puerto Rico - Mayagüez Campus; MA. in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage by the Universistat Politècnica de València (UPV) Spain. Nowadays I'm a Ph.D. student of the Intitut de Restauració del Patrimoni, UPV. I have participated in various publications on chemical and physycal methods of analysis of artworks and made various presentations of my research work at international seminars and conferences.
Working as researcher in the Physico-chemical and environmental control laboratory of the Instituto de Restauración del Patrimonio de la UPV since 2011 I have participated in various research project on chemical and physical methods of analysis of artworks. Including the study of contemporary pictorial materials, chemical and physical properties due to the ageing and how a cleaning treatment by means chemical or biocide agents could affect its chemcial properties.
I also worked on the application of the voltammetry of microparticles, a solid-state electrochemical technique to monitor the deterioration of pictorial specimens.
Currently, I'm working in characterization of the metal soaps protrusions in Georgia O'Keeffe oil paintings. This project is a collaboration between The Center for Scientific Studies in the Arts (NU-ACCESS) at Northwestern University and the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe, NM.
