Welcome to CienciaPR, an expert and resource network for all who are interested in science and Puerto Rico.
I'm a senior undergraduate student majoring in Biology (Pre-Vet track) at the University of Central Florida, upon transferring in the Spring 2018 semester.
I transferred to UCF in Spring 2018, from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico-Ponce Campus (PUCPR), where I was working towards a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences, from 2015 to 2017.
In my college career, I've worked as a peer mentor, clerical assistant, and volunteer. Currently, I volunteer at my local church (Victoria en la Cruz), where I have had the opportunity to develop leadership skills.
Besides developing and polishing my leadership skills, I'm also interested in performing research in the following areas: biology, and genetics. Recently, I was accepted to work in an undergraduate lab, at UCF, where I am working towards developing an undergraduate thesis with the help of a thesis chair.
After I graduate from my bachelor's degree in Biology, I intend to go to veterinary school. There, I'll pursue a Doctor in Veterinary medicine (DVM) degree. After I obtain my DVM, I'm interested in being board certified in Canine and Feline Practice. Then, I'd like to have my own clinic.
