Welcome to CienciaPR, an expert and resource network for all who are interested in science and Puerto Rico.
I graduated from Colegio San Ignacio '09, Harvard College '13, and I am now currently applying to medical school while doing research at the National Institutes of Health. My interests include basic immunology research (T cell biology) as well as the socioeconomic determinants of health and healthcare outcomes.
We are interested in how patients with known genetic diseases that are associated with atopy and severe allergy can inform us regarding the pathophysiology of atopy. My specific project focuses on patients with autosomal dominant hyper-IgE syndrome due to mutations in STAT3, and on unraveling how the affected pathways impair T cell differentiation.
