Welcome to CienciaPR, an expert and resource network for all who are interested in science and Puerto Rico.
I am interested to help Ciencia.pr organization. I received an advertisement about Ciencia.pr by my friends on my yahoo account. Then, I found this website.
I am interested to participate in some projects related to math or computer science programming. I had several years programming experience. I have a Computer Science Undergraduate Degree. More late Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Education. My preferences are to develop Open Source Institute Programs on Puerto Rico.
My educational and work experiences are with C, C++, R Statistical Software, FreeMat, Matlab, Mathematica, Maple, Geogebra, MPI and Maxima programming languages. Also, I know others library and toolbox mathematical programming. I am eager to gain additional hands-on experience in the field of Mathematics, Computer Science and Biology. I don’t have programming experience at any software or computer science company, but I ensure you that I will try my level best to assist my organization by enhancing and implementing my programming skills.
Currently, I am junior student at Caribbean University Department of Education at Ponce where I am studying Mathematics Teaching Education Degree on High School option. This is my second Bachelor’s degree. My first Bachelor’s degree was in Computer Science Department of Mathematical Sciences at University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez Campus.
On summer 2008, I spent ten weeks on Virginia Bioinformatics Institute (VBI) at Virginia Tech. VBI is an interdisciplinary center for applied mathematics at Virginia Tech. My advisor was Dr. Reinhard Laubenbaucer. Reinhard was a professor on the Virginia Bioinformatics Institute (VBI) and the Department of Mathematics at Virginia Tech. My teamwork published a scientific paper: A mathematical model of the immune system's role in obesity related chronic inflammation. This paper was published electronically in August 10, 2009 on SIAM Undergraduate Research Online (SIURO)Volume 2, Issue 2.My advisors at VIB, when I was there told me that I was a responsible, motivated, and a quick-learner person. For example, my advisor said: “You made excellent final presentation.” These personal characteristics will serve me well as I develop professional experience.
Perhaps, we could meet briefly sometime during this week to discuss CienciaPR information. I will send you emails, to discuss a possible meeting time with us
Thank you for your time in advance for reviewing my credentials and consideration.
