Ms. Colón has worked for 2.5 years in a Behavioral Genetics and Neurobiology of Addiction laboratory using Drosophila melanogaster as model organism to understand the behavioral and molecular mechanisms underlying Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD). Additionally, Ms. Colón has conducted summer research at the Neurology Department of the University of Michigan, where she has worked with brain organoids as model to understand the role of ubiquilins (UBQLNs) in neurodegeneration.
