1) Dr. James A. Ferguson Research Initiatives for Student Enhancement (RISE) Fellowship project:
Investigated gaps in outbreak-associated actions using a health equity lens, including demographic data collection, disease reporting, and prevention campaigns. Provided technical assistance to improve agency-wide health equity initiatives and presented research findings to diverse public health partners, individually and in group settings. The project's results identified 38-43% of ethnicity and race information as missing (unpublished data).
2) Baltimore Action Project:
Partnered with the Food Access and Benefits Coordinator to facilitate food access initiatives and public benefits programs for migrant populations and survivors of human trafficking. The project had the following impacts:
a) 50+ mixed-status families and human trafficking survivors enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program
b) 14 food distribution locations available for 70+ clients
c) 30 clients participated in the nutrition education classes
