Welcome to CienciaPR, an expert and resource network for all who are interested in science and Puerto Rico.
I am a doctoral student directing my research to the issues arising from fire smoke emissions and their interaction with the changing global climate. My primary career goal is to become a research scientist, to conduct investigations that aid managers in the decision making process by giving them information, tools, and new ideas of how to manage air quality issues. I am an intern with the USDA Forest Service AirFire Team at the Pacific Wildland Fire Science Laboratory. I know how to run dispersion models and the BlueSky smoke-modeling framework for simulating wildfire, agricultural, and prescribed fire smoke. I also recognize fire behavior and the fire weather that influences fire behavior.
