I’m studying biology at the University of Puerto Rico Rio Piedra Campus. During this past summer, I participated in an educational program at Yale School of Medicine. Thanks to all the mentoring and lectures received in a university research oriented, I have became extremely interested in working and being of help at a laboratory. My interests are neurologic autoimmune disease, Immune Regulation, Genetics, & Neurobiological link with Behavioral Mental Diseases.
Besides my science oriented interests, I have always been very dedicated to community service, psychology, sociology, anthropology, literature and folklore dances.
At Yale School of Medicine, I received mentoring for applying to schools MD, MD/PhD oriented schools, I worked as an interpreter in a Free Clinic for low income citizens at New Haven, shadowed at Yale New Haven hospital in the Emergency Room & the Neurology department, and took advanced biology, organic chemistry , public health and career development courses.
