Welcome to CienciaPR, an expert and resource network for all who are interested in science and Puerto Rico.
I am in my last year at the University of Puerto Rico Secondary School (University High School). After graduation, I plan to double major in Mathematics and Computer Science, and then continue graduate studies. Within these fields, I hold special interest in cryptography and natural language processing. I have been involved in research activities since my sophomore year. I worked on the development of an open source, speech-driven programming platform to assist people with limited hand mobility at the University of Puerto Rico, in the lab of Dr. Patricia Ordoñez. The summer before my senior year I attended the Research Science Institute at MIT, and worked on a project titled Implementation and Analysis of Memory-hard Proof-of-work Scheme Argon2d at Akamai Labs R&D, under the mentorship of Dr. Abhijit Mehta and Samuel Erb. I am now working on mathematical research at the University of Puerto Rico under the direction of Dr. Ivelisse Rubio.
