CAVD Research: I investigated the roles of risk factors for calcific aortic valve disease (CAVD) in disease progression. This was done through cell culture and experiments including cigarette smoke exposure and different extracellular matrix substrates. I used multiple protein quantification methods such as Bradford Assays and ELISAs through this process.
Ultrasound-Guided Neonatal Lumbar Puncture Phantom: With a team of engineering students I helped design and produce an ultrasound-compatible training phantom to help providers practice their ultrasound-guided lumbar puncture skills.
Rigid Rhinoscopy Training Device: With a team of engineering students I helped develop a training device for vetrinarians to practice Rigid Rhinoscopy. This process included using Arduino coding, SOLIDWORKS modeling, and the fabrication of our own pressure-sensitive resistors.
