I am a Puerto Rican scientist, my alma mater is the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico in Ponce where I got a BS in Biology. I was part of the MARC Honor Program which led me to pursue graduate studies in the USA. I completed my Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from Rutgers University, my thesis project was on the genetics regulating vascular biology. I did a postdoc at Princeton University studying the molecular aspects of cancer metastasis. Currently, I am a Research Scientist at DuPont Pioneer leading the production genotyping lab as well as nucleic acid characterization research.
