Wilson Rivera is an Associate Professor at the University of Puerto Rico Mayagüez Campus (UPRM), where he leads the Parallel and Distributed Computing Laboratory. His current funded projects address fundamental research problems in the areas of parallel computing and big data analytics. Dr. Rivera is also Director of the CISE Doctoral Prgram at UPRM
Parallel and Distributed Computing Laboratory at UPRM
The Parallel and Distributed Computing Laboratory (PDCLab) at UPRM facilitates a research and educational environment for faculty and students members to perform research in the theoretical foundations, design, implementation, and efficiency measurements of parallel and distributed algorithms as well as research related to parallel and distributed systems with an emphasis in high-performance cluster computing and Cloud computing.
Research in the PDCLab is supported by the National Science Foundation, the Puerto Rico Development Company (PRIDCO) and Hewlett-Packard.
