Astronomía al Servicio seeks to promote education, scientific exploration, and citizen participation through the establishment of a School Astronomy Club.

The Astronomers Without Borders organization collected donations for the delivery of 20 5-inch optical telescopes, which were distributed in public schools throughout Puerto Rico. Science Puerto Rico, in collaboration with the Office of Astronomy for the Development of the International Astronomical Union, the Astronomy Society of Puerto Rico, and the renowned Puerto Rican astronomer, Dr. Wanda Díaz Merced, give continuity to the project, helping the schools to use telescopes and establish activities that increase the interest and exposure of children and citizens in science.
