Hurricane Fiona impacted the lives, well-being, and livelihood of many college students throughout Puerto Rico. Many have had to contend with family emergencies and additional expenses, food insecurity, interruptions to their education, and spent weeks without water or electricity. Some are still dealing with these challenges.

The Puerto Rico Science Technology and Research Trust, the American Association for the Advancement of Science Caribbean Division, the American Chemical Society Puerto Rico Chapter, SACNAS, and Ciencia Puerto Rico are coming together to create the Fiona Science Student Relief Fund to support the needs of undergraduates in Puerto Rico.

You can join us by making a tax-exempt donation. Click on “Donate Now” and in the next page select “Fiona Science Student Relief Fund” from the dropdown menu. Your contribution will go directly to provide $500 grants to college students in Puerto Rico who demonstrate need and apply through an open call that is available until November 1, 2022. Please, make a donation now

If you have any questions about this Fund or if you wish to make a donation of $10,000 or higher, please contact grants@prsciencetrust.org.

If you are a college student in Puerto Rico and were impacted by the hurricane, apply to the scholarship by November 1st.
