The Urban Chapter of the Society for Freshwater Science cordially invites you to the 7th Symposium on Urbanization and Stream Ecology (SUSE7) https://www.urbanstreamecology.org/suse7.html , to be held in San Juan from May 13th to May 16th, 2025. As a local resident, researcher, educator, and/or practitioner of conservation and ecosystem management, your attendance will be particularly valuable to this symposium, and it is our hope that attending this symposium will be of great value to you. The theme of SUSE7 is “Grassroots to Greenways: Local Voices and Strengths Shaping the Future of Urban Waters”, is intended to focus this year's symposium on place-based science and cooperative management of urban aquatic ecosystems. This vision will be realized through hands-on and interactive workshops that will give local and visiting attendees the opportunity to teach and learn about, and participate in, the management, community, and research challenges, and achievements, of the diverse urban aquatic ecosystems of San Juan. Also, like previous SUSE meetings, SUSE7 will include poster and oral presentations (presentaciones en español son bienvenidos) and synthesis sessions to foment knowledge-sharing between researchers and practitioners from around the world. Past SUSE meetings have sparked significant collaborations resulting in scientific publications and actions that benefit urban aquatic ecosystems and the communities that are part of them. We expect this year’s meeting to do the same with focii on Puerto Rico, Latin America, and tropical regions, but we need your participation to make this happen! Please visit our website https://www.urbanstreamecology.org/suse7.html for information about registration, abstract submission, and workshop themes.
