ASCB MAC Career Development Workshop

The workshop is open to junior faculty and postdoctoral fellows who are interested in academic careers at research-intensive or teaching institutions. You must already be or become an ASCB member and you must be a US Citizen or permanent resident to apply. This workshop will cover a variety of topics essential to a successful academic career, including: Professional Conduct, Time Management, Mentorship, Leadership, Lab Management, Getting Published, Networking, Collaborations, Securing Tenure, Funding sessions describing grant opportunities at NIH and NSF, and Grantsmanship.
Travel awards are available for members of underrepresented groups in the sciences, members of disadvantaged populations, and faculty (regardless of ethnicity) at minority-serving institutions. The travel awards will cover travel and housing.
To apply you will need to submit:
- Your updated curriculum vitae
- A brief, 500-word, summary of the anticipated impact of attending this workshop on your career.
- If you are applying for a travel award, the estimate of travel costs to attend the workshop.
