Nominations Now Open for Leshner Leadership Institute for Public Engagement with Science
Be a Leader in Engaging Climate Science and Society
Nominations are open now through November 1 for the inaugural cohort of the AAAS Leshner Leadership Institute, focused on climate change. This program convenes mid-career scientists who demonstrate leadership and excellence in their research careers, and interest in promoting meaningful dialogue between science and society.
Each year, a cohort of 15 Public Engagement Fellows from disciplines at the nexus of important science-society issues will convene for a week of intensive public engagement and science communication training and public engagement plan development. The first cohort will be comprised of scientists whose research focuses on climate change.
The Fellows will return to their institutions with a renewed commitment to develop and implement public engagement activities, a forum for training other scientists in their communities, increased capacity for public engagement leadership, and the support of their cohort.
Nominations are due November 1. Eligibility and nomination requirements are on this website.
