Student team from RUM wins regional competition of the American Society of Civil Engineers

The group of students from the University of Puerto Rico - Mayaguez Campus that represented Puerto Rico in the southern regional competitions of the American Society of Civil Engineers, won the majority of the awards, including the prestigious Overall for the concrete canoe and steel bridge. This achievement classified them to move to the national competition where they will represent the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi and Puerto Rico in may and june of this year.

UPR Mayagüez won six first places in Engineering Competition in US

The student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineering (ASCE) at the University of Puerto Rico in Mayagüez (RUM) recived 23 awards in 13 events in regionals competitions at the University of Tennessee, in Chatanooga. This is the first time that the ASCE chapter at RUM recieved awards in each category and the first time to win that many awards.

The University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez received 24 awards in 13 events at the Regional Competition of the American Society of Civil Engineering (ASCE) in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
