Dr. Mónica Feliú-Mójer has been elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and a member of the National Academies Standing Committee on Advancing Science Communication.

CienciaPR, Puerto Rico Public Health Trust and Mercy Corps join forces to educate about COVID-19

The Puerto Rico Public Health Trust (PRPHT) and Ciencia Puerto Rico (CienciaPR), together with the humanitarian organization Mercy Corps Puerto Rico, dedicated to supporting communities and micro-businesses, started an alliance to educate young adults about the urgency of modifying their behaviors to stop COVID-19 infections in Puerto Rico.

With the slogan “Cuídate, Cuídame” (Take care of yourself, Take care of me), the organizations launched the educational campaign, which is made up of several efforts aimed mainly at the populations between 20 and 39 years old, which have the highest number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Puerto Rico.

On January 30 and 31 of 2019 the American Chemical Society, Puerto Rico Chapter (ACS-PR) held its first science advocacy workshop in the Capitol building of the Puerto Rico legislature. Approximately 30 scientists and students participated in this event, meant to help the chemistry community in Puerto Rico be more effective science advocates.

Science like you've never heard it before. 

SAN JUAN, PR – Puerto Rican science will be the main course on April 18, starting at 7:00 pm, at Lote 23, in Santurce. As part of their activities, the March for Science-Puerto Rico will be presenting "Historias de #CienciaBoricua @ Lote 23." 

The event will feature personal stories about science and adventures in the pursuit of knowledge and innovation. Through these stories, Puerto Rican scientists will share how science touches every aspect of our lives—including their own.
